As part of this overall strategy, a new position of Vice President of Operations has been created to build leadership capacity. This role is a tremendous opportunity for an operational leader to report to and work collaboratively with the Founder/Chief Executive Officer and his advisory group to develop corporate strategy and vision for the company while maintaining the high standards of staff engagement and customer service delivery. The new Vice President of Operations will lead the management team, and Dorigo as a whole, to the next level of growth and operational excellence.

Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the Vice President of Operations will fulfill a critical senior management function, responsible for full oversight of daily operations including the strategic leadership of Dorigo’s management team. The new Vice President of Operations will be accountable for the performance of multiple departments including sales & business development, customer operations, production, engineering and quality control. The Vice President of Operations is also expected to implement the strategic management cycle and be an active and visible leader of growth and development throughout the organization.

We currently have a requirement for a full-time Component Prep Operator to join the inventory department at our facility in Burnaby BC. The successful candidate will be well-organized, detail-oriented and, ideally, possess a solid understanding of electronics manufacutring and circuit board components.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow production schedule for the department and inform immediate supervisor/team lead if schedule will not be met.
  • Ensure receipt of proper documentation prior to starting work.
  • Upon receipt of circuit boards, review the documents to ascertain if special prepping for a specific component is required.
  • Review product build assembly drawings for questionable information and review areas of concern with supervisor/lead prior to prepping kit.
  • Fully prep kit per instructions and set aside in designated holding area.
  • Communicate any quality issues or documented discrepancies to immediate supervisor/team lead.

Dorigo Systems currently has a requirement for a permanent, full-time Customer Project Coordinator to join our growing EMS manufacturing company. The successful candidate will act as a liaison between the customer and all levels of the manufacturing process to ensure on-time delivery of customer orders.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Enter, maintain, and manage customer purchase orders using Expandable ERP software.
  • Create and manage work orders in Expandable ERP system.
  • Act as focal point and liaison to customer for all scheduling and order delivery issues.
  • Track and communicate any deviations outside of the original purchase order to all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate between Purchasing and customer to ensure that all required raw materials arrive in a timely fashion to allow for on time delivery of finished assemblies.

Dorigo Systems is currently looking to hire an experienced Manufacturing Planner/Scheduler for our growing EMS manufacturing company. This is a diverse position responsible for planning, scheduling, releasing, and tracking production workflow from Order Management through to manufacturing. This position will receive work orders and requisitions from Order Management, and will then add planning data, enter the information into the company scheduling system, and distribute work packages to manufacturing.

This fulltime position, which reports directly to the Production Manager, will be the focal point towards enhancing a manufacturing scheduling system for Dorigo Systems. The Manufacturing Planner will create, monitor, and report on the current manufacturing status of all released work orders, and will function as a liaison between Order Management, Engineering, Material Management / Purchasing, Manufacturing and Shipping/Receiving departments.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Function as the focal point in creating a manufacturing schedule for Dorigo Systems using the best combination of scheduling systems, Excel, SharePoint or other databases. The manufacturing schedule’s purpose is to provide a means to track and manage daily manufacturing workload, provide feedback to the Order Management department and provide regular reporting on manufacturing capacity.
  • Provide an in-depth audit on manufacturing requirements, capacity, schedule, and workforce size.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report performance to schedule of manufacturing activities utilizing information derived from material and manufacturing control systems.
  • Coordinate with Order Management and Manufacturing departments the sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates in accordance with customer orders or sales forecasts.
  • Analyze manufacturing specifications, plant capacity data and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.
  • Assist the Production department to actively manage the manufacturing schedule.
  • Coordinate with Order Management and Production departments as needed to identify and resolve issues regarding delivery.
  • Communicate with manufacturing supervisors to determine status of assigned work.
  • Prepare manufacturing reports.
  • Provide continuous improvement suggestions for the planning and reporting processes.
  • Participate in manufacturing operations meetings.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • A degree in Operations Management, or a technical field along with 5+ years experience in planning/scheduling in batch (job shop) manufacturing.
  • Experience in EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) industry will be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Expandable or other MRP/ERP systems is an asset.
  • APICS Certification preferred (CPIM).
